In recent years, the Dryden Transfer Station has been one of the county collection sites during the White Goods and Junk Metal Collection Event held every spring in April. Most recyclable metal materials can be dropped off for free, but only during this one-time event per year. This is an opportunity for County residents to dispose of their unwanted large appliances, refrigeration units and scrap metal. The only charges involved with this event would be associated with each junk appliance that contains or once contained Freon, such as refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers. A contractor recycles the metal from this event

Disposal of appliances, non-freon appliances, and recyclable metal during other times of the year is available to the public for a minimum fee of $10.00, which will vary depending on the volume of material, size of the appliance, and number of appliances.

If any appliance contains freon, or once contained freon, there is a freon/compressor recycling charge of $20.00. This fee is the same year around, including during the White Goods and Junk Metal Collection Event.

The above appliances and metal materials will be recycled and not go into our regional landfill.
