Compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records, recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Compiling payroll data such as hours worked, sales or piecework, taxes, insurance, and union dues to be withheld, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records.
Preparing computer input forms, entering data into computer files, or computing wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
Reviewing wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
Reviewing personnel records to determine names, rates of pay, and occupations of newly hired workers.
Recording new or changed pay rates in payroll register or computer files.
Directing computation of pay according to company policy.
Interpreting company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
Review sick and annual leave reports monthly.
Reviewing payroll to ensure accuracy.
Review equipment rental hours, correct errors to ensure accuracy
Perform accounts payable for benefits, parts, mileage, and equipment rental monthly.
Input and check for accuracy the monthly fuel reports.
Notify and update employee certifications.
Answer and receipt development fees that come in.
Answering and directing incoming telephone calls, screening calls, and correspondence.
Assisting the public with any questions that they may have.
Filing and scanning documents.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
One year Accounting certificate from college or technical school; 2 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit. The starting salary for this position is PW04 - Step 1 at $2,997.36 to Step 4 at $3,469.81 per month, depending on experience.
