24C03947 - Hit and Run Suspect Located and Arrested
Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison reports, on 5/5/24 at about 3:03 am Deputies responded to the 5100 block of Mission Creek Rd in Cashmere, WA for a hit and run incident.
A vehicle left the roadway and struck a residence leaving significant damage and fled the scene. Thankfully no one inside the residence was injured. A description of the suspect vehicle was given as a lifted white Chevrolet pickup with front end damage.
Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle and suspect driver. Deputies reached out to the community via social media to assist us in locating the suspect vehicle.
Later at about 8:03 am, a citizen reached out to the Sheriff’s office through RiverCom and advised they had located the possible suspect vehicle.
On duty Deputies responded to a residence in the 5400 block of Binder Rd, in Cashmere WA. There they located the suspect truck, a 2012 white Chevy Silverado with fresh damage to the front end. Through their investigation the suspect driver was identified as 30 year old male, Dustin Olson, of Cashmere WA.
Olson was arrested and booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center for initial charges of:
RCW 9A.48.070 Malicious Mischief 1st degree
RCW 46.52.020.2A Hit and Run- Attended Property
RCW 9A.36.050 Reckless Endangerment
With help from the community, CCSO Deputies were able to locate and arrest Dustin Olson, who was lucky that no innocent person was killed in this incident.
