Free wood chips available at county brush sites

We have FREE woodchips available at Chelan County’s brush yards during regular business hours. All you need is a shovel and gloves to self-load and haul away your new chips.

For large loads of 5 yards or more, assistance with loading can be arranged. However, people must contact the Chelan County solid waste coordinator at 509-667-6415 or public.works@co.chelan.wa.us to make arrangements.

Remember, any woodchips removed from the Leavenworth drop-off site must remain within the Apple Maggot Quarantine Area. To determine if you live in the Apple Maggot Quarantine Area, you can visit the Washington State Department of Agriculture’s Interactive Apple Maggot Quarantine Map.

For residents wanting woodchips for application outside of the quarantine area, chips are available at the Chelan and Dryden transfer stations.

The wood chip material is available as is. Chelan County is not liable for the wood chips material and is not responsible for the material once it is removed from the site. Woodchips are not certified weed free and may contain inorganic materials.
