Event Details:
Ohme Gardens is asking the public to join staff in participating in National Make a Difference Day on Oct. 22 at the gardens.
Ohme Gardens will be donating wood from trees that needed to be removed to the Wenatchee Rescue Mission, which in turn uses the wood to keep its shelter warm during the winter. Gardens and mission staff need help collecting, cutting and loading the firewood.
The Ohme Gardens’ effort will be underway 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 22. No RSVPs are necessary; volunteers are encouraged to just show up at the gardens, 3327 Ohme Road in Wenatchee. Volunteers are asked to wear sturdy shoes, gloves and long-sleeved shirts. Especially in demand are those people who own a chainsaw.
