The North Central Washington Special Investigations Unit (NCWSIU) continues its investigation into the officer-involved shooting that occurred in Okanogan County, outside the city of Tonasket.
Over the past week, investigators have obtained body-worn camera (BWC) footage from the Washington State Patrol (WSP), which is being reviewed. We are still in the process of obtaining BWC footage from the US Marshals Service (USMS). Investigators are continuing to work with both WSP and USMS to obtain written reports from officers who were on scene at the time of the incident.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. The NCWSIU will provide additional updates according to Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 139-12-030 as information becomes available and is appropriate for release.
