Auditor seeks citizens to serve on “Against” committee for local ballot measure appearing in the February Special Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
The Chelan County Auditor’s Office seeks individuals to write an “Against” committee statement for the February 10, 2026 Special Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
“Against” committee members needed for the Chelan County - Funding Emergency Communication Systems and Facilities.
According to Revised Code of Washington 29A.32.280, districts proposing the measures are responsible for appointing committees to write arguments for and against each measure. If the districts do not appoint a committee to write an argument for or against a measure, the County Auditor is then responsible to seek individuals to serve on that committee.
The Local Voters’ Pamphlet includes official ballot titles, explanatory statements, arguments "for" and "against" each measure, and rebuttals.
Committee members are required to be residents of the district in order to draft an argument and at least one person must be willing to be named in the voters’ pamphlet as a member of the committee.
Committee member names and argument must be submitted to the Auditor’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025 via email to auditor@co.chelan.wa.us or by calling us at 509.667.6808 to arrange dropping off forms.
