CCSO First Level Supervisor State Certifications

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison reports that all of the agencies first-line supervisors
(Sergeants and Corporals) recently achieved a significant professional milestone by being recognize by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC) for having completed their First Level Supervisors Career Level Certifications (CLC). This brings all current Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) first-line supervisors in full compliance with RCW 43.101.350 and in alignment with recognized best practices for law enforcement leadership across the state.

The certification is a mandatory requirement for all law enforcement and corrections personnel who are hired, transferred, or promoted into a supervisory or management role. Of the three levels of CLC, only First Level Supervisor and Middle Management are required by statue. The groups commitment to this process reflects a deep dedication to professional growth, accountability and service to both our agency and the communities we serve. We are especially proud of the hard work and initiative shown by our supervisors in meeting these requirements and commend our training sergeant, Sgt. Brent Frank, for proactively taking this certification process on.

CCSO continues to align itself with its mission, vision and core values in order to meet the high expectations set by not only the state but more importantly the citizens we proudly serve. This achievement marks another pivotal step forward for the Sheriff’s Office and reinforces our ongoing commitment to setting a high standard not only for our deputies but all employees. We do not take lightly the opportunity to serve our citizens at the highest level and remain dedicated to leading by example in every aspect of our work. We remain “Of the People. For the People.”
