Chelan County buildings are now open

Buildings across the Chelan County campus are now open to the public.

Many County offices have been closed to the public for more than a year, following COVID prevention guidelines and requirements established by the Governor’s Office and recommended by the Chelan-Douglas Health District. Most departments have had to adjust their operations, with staff members working from home or offices closing to the public.

When visiting a County building, wearing a mask is not required if you have completed your full vaccine regime, including waiting two weeks after your last vaccine to visit.

The County encourages unvaccinated people to continue wearing a mask and to social distance while in all its buildings. All visitors also are asked to follow posted social distancing guidelines that may limit the number of people allowed in an individual department’s lobby or waiting room.

While the Community Development and Public Works offices, 316 Washington St., are open, people who would prefer scheduling an appointment to speak with a staff member about a permit can do so by reaching out to the respective department. Online submissions of permits are still encouraged.
