Faye Fetters, the chief deputy coroner for Chelan County, recently completed the Core Medicolegal Forensic Investigative Training through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. The state-required training gives participants an in-depth understanding of topics such as medicolegal death investigation systems, death scene investigation and identification procedures.

Fetters, who joined the Coroner's Office in November 2025, moved to Wenatchee from Albany, New York, to pursue a career in death investigation. Fetters has a Bachelor of Science in crime scene investigation from Florida State University, has obtained training from the Texas State University Forensic Anthropology Research Facility and is finishing up their master's degree in arson and explosive investigation. When they're not working, they can be found birdwatching, powerlifting and knitting.
