Horselake Road closes early for winter season
Horselake Road in Wenatchee closes for the winter on Wednesday, Nov. 14 – two weeks ahead of its scheduled annual seasonal closure.
Recent rains have created muddy and sometimes slippery conditions on the road, which leads to the Horse Lake Trails maintained by the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust. The road is closed annually on Dec. 1 and re-opened on April 1 to protect the primitive road from damages and for wintering mule deer.
At their regular meeting on Nov. 13, Chelan County commissioners decided to close the roadway early at the request of Chelan County Public Works.
