Are you a veteran who wants to help make a difference for local veterans and their families?

The Chelan County Veterans Advisory Board (VAB) has three vacancies to fill for 2027.

Applicants must be a veteran and have their primary residence in Chelan County. Membership in a nationally recognized veterans service organization, such as the VFW or American Legion, is preferred but not required. No fewer than a majority of board members must belong to a nationally recognized veterans service organization.

The VAB is a voluntary board that advises the Board of County Commissioners on the needs of local indigent veterans, available resources, and programs that could benefit veterans and their families.

The VAB meets every other month in the first-floor conference room of the Chelan County Administration Building, 400 Douglas St. in Wenatchee. All meetings are 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Terms run Jan. 1, 2027, through Dec. 31, 2029. Members may serve up to three terms.

Applications are open through 5 p.m. Nov. 11. Submit your application and resume to VSO@co.chelan.wa.us, or drop it off at 428 Orondo Ave. in Wenatchee during regular hours. After hours, applications may be placed in the mailbox. A DD-214 Member 4 Form may also be included in your application, but is not required.

Applications will be reviewed by the VAB, and selected applicants will be interviewed in early December.
