Scrap metal yard at Dryden Transfer Station closing for a month
UPDATE: We anticipate re-opening the scrap metal yard on Oct. 29.
Beginning Sept. 24, the Dryden Transfer Station will not be taking any scrap metal loads because its recycling yard will be under construction.
The metal recycling yard will be closed for about a month, re-opening on Oct. 29.
Chelan County Public Works, which operates the Dryden Transfer Station, will resurface the yard with asphalt and bring in ecology blocks to better secure the area, located near the transfer station scales. The $216,000 project is being paid for with money from the county’s solid waste program.
People who need to recycle metal loads during the closure can use other local options:

T&C Recycling, 1631 S. Wenatchee Ave. in Wenatchee
Wenatchee Valley Salvage and Recycling, 295 Urban Industrial Ave. in East Wenatchee
During construction, transfer station customers may see increased truck activity. Please be patient with us as we work to get the project completed and re-open the improved scrap metal yard.
