**UPDATE TO CASE INVOLVING DAMAGE TO LEAVENWORTH GAZEBO PARK**

Chelan County Sheriff’s Deputies Investigate Vandalism and Identify Suspect

Chelan County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies continued their investigation into the Leavenworth Gazebo Park vandalism which occurred at about 0100 hours on 12/22/2024. A male driving a pickup truck drove recklessly through the park causing excessive damage with his vehicle before fleeing the area.  


Thanks to the Patrol Deputies’ tireless efforts, and with help from our citizens and visitors, the suspect has been identified as Zachary Soltis, who resides in Texas. There is probable cause for his arrest for Malicious Mischief 2nd Degree and Reckless Driving.  


We are currently working with the Chelan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to file charges against Mr. Soltis and ensure we remain an “adversary” to those would come to this County and commit crime.

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison reports, on 12/22/24, at around 11:30pm, the grounds in Gazebo Park, (820 Front St.) in Leavenworth was vandalized by a truck.


The suspect vehicle is a 2024 silver Toyota Tundra with Texas Lic# TTR1528.  The truck was videotaped by witnesses spinning donuts on the grass of the park destroying a 90’x 50’ section.  The suspect driver appears to be a white male in his 20-30’s.  He has not been identified yet.


Deputies are currently conducting follow-up on the suspect vehicle and speaking with witnesses.


Once the suspect is identified, there will be probable cause for their arrest for reckless driving and malicious mischief 2nd degree.
