AlertSense notices go out to public asking for updates
Chelan County Emergency Management is sending notices for those people registered with AlertSense, the county’s emergency alert system. The county is asking users to update their contact information. If you are a user, watch for an email in your work or personal account that says it is from Chelan County Emergency Management at alerts@alertsense.com.
We have had some people call the EM office, asking if this is a phishing scam. The emails are from Chelan County.
On April 1, Emergency Management will be changing to a new alert system called Everbridge. We are asking people to make any corrections to their AlertSense contact information because contacts in AlertSense will automatically switch over to Everbridge.
Everbridge, which is used by our neighboring counties, will provide several new benefits to users. Switching to Ever Bridge will create uniformity in the region, which will boost reliability. It will speed up the delivery of emergency alerts by providing immediate translation in Spanish.
Watch for more updates as we get closer to that April 1 kick-off date with Everbridge.
