Citizens needed to serve on “Against” committees for ballot measures in August local voters' pamphlet
The Chelan County Auditor’s Office seeks people to write “Against” committee statements for the August 5 Primary Special Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
Against committee members needed for: Fire 5, Fire 6 and Fire 9
According to Revised Code of Washington 29A.32.280, districts proposing the measures are responsible for appointing committees to write arguments for and against each measure. If the districts do not appoint a committee to write an argument for or against a measure, the County Auditor is then responsible to seek individuals to serve on that committee.
The Local Voters’ Pamphlet includes official ballot titles, explanatory statements, arguments "for" and "against" each measure, and rebuttals.
Committee members are required to be residents of the district in order to draft an argument and at least one person must be willing to be named in the voters’ pamphlet as a member of the committee.
Committee member names and argument must be submitted to the Auditor’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 via email to auditor@co.chelan.wa.us or by calling us at 509.667.6808 to arrange dropping off forms.
