County brush yards now closed to general public

Drop-off brush yards at both the Dryden and Chelan transfer stations are now closed to the general public.

Chelan County Public Works made the decision on March 26 to temporarily close the brush yards for the safety of the public and its employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Closing the brush yards allows employees to follow social distancing policies that have been mandated by the governor and allows Chelan County to have procedures in place to be able to keep the transfer stations open.

As a reminder, the transfer stations are open to the general public on Fridays and Saturdays during their regular hours. Only household garbage will be taken on those days.

The facilities, including the brush yards, are open regular hours to contractors who have accounts with Chelan County Public Works or North Chelan Recovery & Recycling.  Contractors include local cities, Waste Management and other businesses that have charge accounts. No new accounts will be taken at this time.
