Governor appoints Judge Ferrera to Legal Foundation of Washington
Chelan County Superior Court Judge Kristin Ferrera recently was appointed by the governor to the Legal Foundation of Washington.
Board members are appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee, the Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors and the Washington Supreme Court.
The Legal Foundation administers and funds programs as directed by the Supreme Court. Funding is used to provide time and other available resources to civil legal aid programs to assist low-income people and the most vulnerable to overcome barriers in the civil justice system as they relate to family safety, housing, health and employment.
Judge Ferrera, who has been a Chelan County Superior Court judge since January 2018, will serve in her new board position through December 2024. Board members are eligible for one re-appointment.
