Chelan County Natural Resources will give a presentation on a feasibility study and alternatives analysis that looks at the development of a whitewater park at the former Leavenworth Mill Dam site, or at Barn Beach Reserve.
The meeting is 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Wenatchee River Institute, 347 Division St. in Leavenworth. People who can’t attend in person can watch via Zoom. The link is available on the project’s webpage.
Natural Resources worked with consultants, fisheries agencies and landowners to develop the alternatives analysis. Project concepts focus on mill dam rehabilitation, habitat improvement and recreation improvement. The analysis is still in draft form so it can be updated with community feedback and a preferred alternative can be determined.
