National Invasive Species Awareness Week is Feb. 20-26

While we all may be daydreaming about wildflower season in Chelan County, it's also time to start thinking about noxious weeds.

February 20-26 is National Invasive Species Awareness Week (NISAW). NISAW is an event to raise awareness about invasive species, the threat they pose, and what can be done to prevent their spread.

You can raise your own awareness about noxious weeds by checking out the weed gallery and free publications available on the Washington State Noxious Weed Board website.

And, don't forget that the Chelan County Noxious Weed Control Board is sponsoring a class on Feb. 15 that provides four credits toward a pesticide applicators recertification. Registration information is available on the Chelan County Noxious Weed Board's website.
