South Lakeshore Road Hazard Tree Removal Beginning November 30, 2015

As a result of this summer’s 7,500 acre First Creek Fire, some trees remain standing that now pose a risk of falling on powerlines and/or roadway along South Lakeshore Road.  Chelan County Public Works, with the assistance of the Chelan County PUD, has identified approximately 30 trees in the County right-of-way along South Lakeshore and will begin removal of these trees beginning Monday, November 30, 2015.

This safety project is expected to take less than a week.  Travelers on South Lakeshore Road should expect one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic with some delays at work sites along the road.  Please contact Lauren Loebsack, Public Information Officer at 509/667.6341 or lauren.loebsack@co.chelan.wa.us if you have any questions regarding this project.  Public Works thanks you for your patience and caution when traveling through work zones.

UPDATE 12/06/2015:

Upon closer inspection during removal of hazard trees last week on South Lakeshore Road, more trees were indicated as potential hazards.  Work will continue on South Lakeshore Road to remove an addition 30-40 trees.  This work is expected to take another two weeks.

Travelers on South Lakeshore Road should continue to expect one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic with some delays at work sites along the road.  Please be attentive and patient when travelling through work zones.
