Work on the County's Bridge Deck Program Begins Early

Chelan County Public Works began work on one of two bridge deck projects, one the Wenatchee River Bridge in Plain and the other the Peshastin Creek-Ingalls Bridge.  The purpose of this project is to prevent further deterioration of the existing structures, which are now deteriorated to the point that moisture can easily penetrate the deck surfaces and impact the integrity of the steel.

The West Company is the contractor selected for this project and proposed an adjusted construction schedule that initiated work on the Peshastin Creek-Ingalls Bridge May 4, 2015.   This type of bridge at that location allows for work to be done with one-lane flagger-controlled traffic in lieu of full closure of the bridge.  Work on the Peshastin Creek-Ingalls Bridge is now expected to be completed by July 2015.

Work will occur Monday through Friday, from 7AM to 5PM.  Any traffic delays are expected to be no more than 10 minutes.  The contractor will work to minimize delays during rush hours and for the school bus.

This will not change the dates for work or closure on the Wenatchee River Bridge beginning June 1, 2015.
