Salary: PW04 Steps 2-4 $3,828.19 - $4,179.08 DOE Longevity Steps 5-8 $4,367.78 -$4,992.41

The position includes a state retirement system, with a deferred comp program available. Health insurance package includes Medical, Dental, and county contributions to a personal health savings account. Includes 11 paid holidays and 1 floating personal holidays along with monthly accrued vacation and sick leave. 

GENERAL FUNCTION

Under supervision of the Economic Services Director, this role provides a wide variety of administrative support to the Chelan County Economic Services Development and Lodging Tax Advisory Committee; performs support work related to department activities; may create, implement, and participate in technical processes, procedures, and programs; and performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform technical and administrative duties that support the Economic Services Director and Department functions such as but not limited to; filing, photocopying, taking and distributing meeting minutes, managing schedules, coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling appointments with internal and external parties, ordering supplies, sorting and distributing correspondence and maintaining database records.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain departmental forms including typing, proofreading, and editing the content of documents.
  • Research, create and maintain reports for the Economic Services Department.
  • Research and complete grant applications for the Economic Services Departments.
  • Responsible for grant reporting and compliance for Economic Services.  
  • Greeting clients and make them feel comfortable, both in-person and over the phone
  • Coordinating agenda items to be submitted to the Clerk of the Board for weekly Board of County Commissioner sessions
  • Process weekly billing for the Economic Services Department
  • Maintain front desk and verify that orders are placed as necessary to ensure necessary office supplies are available at all times
  • Read and analyze incoming memos, letters, and reports to determine their significance and distribute appropriately.
  • Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and perform basic math and basic bookkeeping.

MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.
  • At least (1) year of increasingly responsible administrative work experience in public, community, or relevant field.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or related field;
  • Previous experience working in the Public Sector;
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Advance proficiency in MS Office programs;
  • Previous experience managing social or related programs;
  • Previous experience developing and maintaining departmental budget.

  • Ability to successfully perform responsible and complex work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative without supervision;
  • Establish professional and cooperative working relationships with employees, other agencies, media sources, and the general public;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; 
  • Apply common sense understanding to applicable RCW’s.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to communicate proficiently in English both orally and in writing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primary work environment will be indoors in an office setting. Travel between buildings and to various organizations and locations outside of the main office will be necessary.
