Auditor seeks citizens to serve on “For” or “Against” committees for ballot measures in the August Primary Special Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
The Chelan County Auditor’s Office seeks individuals to write “For” or “Against” committee statements for the August 6, 2024 Special Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
“For” and “Against” committee members needed for:
• Upper Valley Park and Recreation Service Area
“Against” committee members needed for:
• Fire District No. 5
According to Revised Code of Washington 29A.32.280, districts proposing the measures are responsible for appointing committees to write arguments for and against each measure. The districts did not appoint committees to write arguments for and/or against the measures, so the County Auditor is seeking individuals to serve on those committees.
The Local Voters’ Pamphlet includes official ballot titles, explanatory statements, arguments "for" and "against" each measure, and rebuttals.
Committee members are required to be residents of the district in order to draft arguments and at least one person must be willing to be named in the voters’ pamphlet as a member of the committee.
Committee member names and arguments must be submitted to the Auditor’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024 via email to auditor@co.chelan.wa.us or by calling us at 509.667.6808 to arrange dropping off forms.
