Commissioners, county directors plan March community meetings
The Chelan County team is coming to a community near you.
The first week of March, Chelan County commissioners will host a series of community-led discussions in each of the three districts commissioners represent. Joining the meetings will be county directors representing the following departments: Community Development, Public Works, Natural Resources, Economic Services and the Regional Justice Center. Each of the meetings will have different directors attending.
The community events will be:
District 1: 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, at Mission View Elementary School, 60 Terminal Ave. in Wenatchee. Commissioner Kevin Overbay will host the meeting.
District 3: 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, at Chelan Fire & Rescue, 232 E. Wapato Ave. in Chelan. Commissioner Brad Hawkins will host the meeting.
District 2: 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, at Leavenworth Fire Hall, 228 Chumstick Highway. Commissioner Shon Smith will host the meeting.
"We encourage people to come with questions or concerns that they would like to address either to a county commissioner or a department director," said Jill FitzSimmons, public information officer for Chelan County. "Or if you just want to come and listen, I hope you join us. These meetings are an opportunity for us all to gather together and talk about our community."
Spanish-interpreting services will be available at each of the meetings.
The three-member Board of County Commissioners each represent a district in Chelan County. District 1, represented by Commissioner Overbay, consists of the Malaga area and most of Wenatchee. District 2, represented by Commissioner Smith, consists of parts of the Sunnyslope area north to Leavenworth, Plain, Lake Wenatchee and the northern parts of the county. District 3, represented by Commissioner Hawkins, consists of parts of the Sunnyslope area west to the Entiat, Chelan and Manson areas. The district maps (PDF) are available online.
