The Chelan County Veterans Program is hosting a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Dec. 4, and donors are encouraged to wear their ugliest holiday sweater.
The blood drive will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wenatchee Veterans Hall, 1206 N. Wenatchee Ave. Register to donate blood on the American Red Cross website. Or call the Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767.
Local veterans are encouraged to volunteer at the community event or to sign up to donate blood. If you are interested in volunteering that day, email Veterans Program manager Trent Mortensen at trent.mortensen@co.chelan.wa.us.
Organizers are hoping new donors join in the event. A holiday sweater contest also will be held, with prizes given away for the first through third place.
The blood drive was created as a way for local veterans to give back to the community.
