Adopt a County Road

Chelan County has about 550 miles of paved county-owned roads. That’s a lot of miles to cover when it comes to cleanup and maintenance. Keeping Chelan County Clean is the local adopt-a-road program. The program is an opportunity for high school students, clubs, nonprofits, businesses, families and even individuals to come together for a common goal – keeping our local roads free of litter. The program not only provides a cleaner environment and healthier ecosystem, but it also serves as a reminder for others not to litter.

Volunteers typically adopt a 2-mile stretch of county roadway and agree to pick up litter at least twice a year on their adopted stretch. Roadways are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
