Chelan County Assessor

Destroyed Property Exemptions

We are sorry to hear that your property may have been destroyed, in whole or in part due to a fire or other disaster. We wanted you to know that you may qualify for an adjustment on your property’s current assessed value.

To receive consideration you must complete the application and return it to our office as soon as possible. Please include any documentation supporting the destruction and/or contact us to set up an onsite visit.

Upon receipt of a destroyed property application, the Chelan County Assessor will determine if your property qualifies for a reduction, calculate the amount of reduction, and notify you of our determination.

If you disagree with the Assessor’s determination, you will have thirty (30) days after the postmark of the Assessor’s determination to compute and submit your own determination, together with a request for a hearing, to the Chelan County Board of Equalization.
