Walter named permanent director of Community Development
Deanna Walter, Chelan County assessor and interim director of Chelan County Community Development, is the new permanent director of the county’s planning and building department. She will step down from her elected position on March 31.
Jail’s narcotics dog to be utilized in some local schools
Chelan County has signed agreements with six area school districts that will allow school resource officers to partner with the county jail’s narcotics-detecting dog and her handler.
Cridlebaugh hired as new economic services director
Chelan County commissioners announce the hiring of Ron Cridlebaugh, who will fill a newly created administrator position titled economic services director. Cridlebaugh begins April 3.
2023 Lodging Tax capital requests open through April 14
The Chelan County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee has opened the annual grant application process for groups and municipalities seeking lodging tax dollars for capital projects, or capital improvement projects, that will help attract overnight visitors to the county. Applications are due by April 14.
New Public Lobby Hours Effective February 24. 2023
Sheriff Morrison has authorized a change to our public lobby operational days. Beginning Friday, February 24th, our Records and Civil public lobbies at 401 Washington Street, Level 1 in Wenatchee will now be open Monday – Thursday 9AM – 5PM and closed on Fridays.

The recent Point in Time Count showed the number of people experiencing homelessness on the one-day event is slightly down from last year; however, the count also shows increase in number of people living in shelters, temporary housing.

County to surplus 35 properties; land valued at $4.7 million
