Public Record Request

Chelan County's public records policy is set out in Chapter 1.376 of the Chelan County Code, "Public Records Procedures".

The purpose of Chapter 1.376 of the Chelan County Code is to provide rules by which the County implements the provisions of the Public Records Act for the County's public records.

Public records may be inspected and/or copies may be obtained through a request for public records directed to the Public Records Officer online at : Chelan County Public Records Online Center; or at Sheriff.Records@co.chelan.wa.us; or by calling 509-667-6875. Use of the "Public Records Request" form is strongly recommended.

Chelan County has established a policy for "Copying and Delivery Fees" for public records requests at Section 1.376.090 of the County Code.

Sex Offender Registry

The Chelan County Sheriff's Office maintains this Sex Offender Registry as a public service tool.  This registry is designed to increase community safety and awareness.  The information on this website has not been made available for the user or any other person to take any illegal punitive action against any individual.

 

Protection Order Information

A District Court Protection Orders can be obtained through the Chelan County Superior Court. The court will review the paperwork and grant or deny a temporary emergency order effective for up to 14 days. The other party must be served with the petition, notice of hearing, and temporary order. A hearing is scheduled within 2 weeks at which time the court may deny the petition or grant an order effective for up to one year or more. Forms and instructions are provided by the County Clerk's Office.

Hulk Vehicle Information

Qualifications
To qualify as a “junk” vehicle, per RCW 46.55.010, a vehicle must meet three of the following conditions:

  • Must be at least three years old.
  • Must be extensively damaged.
  • Must be apparently inoperable.
  • Must have a “fair market value” equal only to the approximate value of the scrap in it.

If the vehicle meets the above requirements you can contact a law enforcement agency, 911 or an authorized junk vehicle inspector, to arrange for the inspection of the vehicle, per RCW 46.55.230. If not, refer to RCW 46.55 concerning abandoned vehicles.
