North Central Washington Chaplains Foundation Unit

NCW Chaplains are individuals who possess specialized counseling and crisis intervention skills that are beneficial to the area first responders. The Chaplains are available 24 hours a day on a call-out basis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Roles:

Pro-Active:  
Briefings Attendance at various watches and duty sections.
Ride-Alongs Patrol, Fire, EMT, Detectives, etc.
Visitations Homes and hospitals, employees and families.
Informational Counseling On-Site recognition, referrals (leads) by supervisors or peers.
Community Involvement Department representative at various functions (Public Relations).
Weddings Pre-marital counseling and wedding planning
Official Functions Award Ceremonies, Academy visits, promotions, swearing in, etc.
Training Seminars CISM, Line Duty Death Funeral Preparations, Stress Management, etc.
Back-Up Resources Establishing a network of available resources to assist employees and families, community – i.e. referrals.
   
Reactive:  
Crisis Response Emergency call outs for first responder employees on duty and off duty, their families, and the community.
Critical Incident Team Negotiations, SWAT, SAR, Special Teams, emergencies only under direct command of CO on scene.
Crisis Intervention CISM, suicide interventions and prevention, horrific crime scenes and trauma locales, both citizens and responders.
Death Notification For employee and in cooperation with the Coroner’s Office to the community.
Follow-Up Injuries, sickness, or deaths of employees or immediate family, active or retired.
Funeral / Memorial Services Employee or family and community members.
Counseling Job-related stress reduction, marriage, and family.
