District Court Probation

Restitution

Restitution is monetary compensation or reparation ordered by the Court for the loss or damage caused to another person or business, many times referred to as "the victim."  Restitution is different than your court fines and different than your probation fees.  Restitution is determined and ordered by a judge.  In Chelan County, you must make your restitution payments to Probation Services and in turn, Probation Services will reimburse the victim.

If you have been ordered to pay restitution as part of your case, please gather all of the paperwork you were given, and report to Probation Services as soon as possible following Court.  You will sit down with a member of our staff while we determine the specifics of your restitution payments.

Restitution payments can be made in person, through the mail, or over the phone with a credit or debit card.
