Having an active court case can be a frightening and challenging experience. Our friendly staff is here to assist you through the process and hopefully make it a little bit easier for you.
While we are not allowed to give legal advice or referrals, there are many things we can do to make your experience easier. For instance, we can provide the following:
Interpreter assistance. We can assist in providing an interpreter, whether in person for Spanish speaking customers on Criminal or Infraction cases, or through Language Line for customer assistance in most languages. If you have a court hearing and are needing an interpreter in a language other than Spanish, we have the ability to locate a certified/qualified interpreter through the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC).
Assisted Hearing Device. We have assisted hearing devices in both courtrooms that can assist in amplifying the sound of whoever is speaking, so that you may understand the entire conversation and process of the hearing. These are available for customers and those appearing with them.
Wheelchair accessible courtrooms. While we are located on the 4th floor, we are elevator accessible and have double doors on our courtrooms to open for easy entry if you use a mobility assistance device.
Lactation room. If you are a nursing mother who is here to serve on a jury, whether in Superior Court or District Court, we have a private lactation room on our floor for your use while you are here in that capacity.
Community Service Providers. We have information available to connect you with local agencies that may be able to provide assistance to you based on your needs. Some of the agencies that work closely with the court are:
