District Court

Marriage Ceremony Requests

Chelan County District Court Judges are empowered to perform marriage ceremonies under the laws of the State of Washington.  Marriage ceremonies are scheduled with the judge and may be performed at Chelan County District Court (4th Floor of the County Courthouse) or an alternate location as agreed to by the judge.  A wedding fee may be charged.  Fees are determined by the judges and vary depending on the day, time, and location of the ceremony.

To request a marriage ceremony a completed Wedding Reservation may be submitted by e-mail (DistrictCourt.Clerk@co.chelan.wa.us) or in person to the Chelan County District Court.  Requests can also be made by phone (509-667-6600).  A judge will respond, usually within one (1) business day.

A valid marriage license is required.  A license may be obtained from the Chelan County Auditor's Office http://www.co.chelan.wa.us/auditor/pages/marriage-licenses (509-667-6810) and there is a three (3) day waiting period before the ceremony may be performed.

The marriage license and fee (payable in cash only) must be delivered to the Chelan County District Court at least one (1) business day prior to the ceremony.

Two (2) witnesses are required and must be provided by the wedding party.  Additional guests are welcome.
