On May 14, crews will begin working on the Eagle Creek Road Phase II Improvement Project. The project will use full-depth reclamation, or FDR. FDR is a pavement rehabilitation technique in which the fully flexible pavement section and a portion of the underlying materials are uniformly crushed, pulverized and blended, resulting in a stabilized base course.
The roads in the 2018 Preservation Program were previously identified based on a rating system that defines what state the pavement is in and what fix is required.
The last day for summer Saturday brush collection at the Leavenworth brush drop-off yard will be June 29. The drop-off site on East Leavenworth Road will return again to two days of operation in September. The site will remain open on Fridays throughout the summer to accommodate homeowners and businesses in the apple maggot quarantine area of western Chelan County.

A five-day road closure on a portion of Joe Miller Road begins Tuesday, Aug. 22. Contractor KRCI, LLC, of East Wenatchee will be working to rebuild the roadway, restoring it to two lanes, between mileposts 2.20 and 2.24. That portion of the roadway was damaged in March 2016 during a landslide.
County road maintenance crews will begin chip sealing Preservation Roads on Monday, Aug. 7. They will start in the Leavenworth District and move onto the Cashmere, Chelan and Wenatchee districts, in that order. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes when crews are in their area.
