The Chelan-Douglas Health District, in anticipation of the restructuring of its governing board in the new year, is accepting new board member applications from the public. The Health Board seeks at least six new members -- community members living in Douglas and Chelan counties.
In a move to rebuild the local emergency dispatching agency RiverCom, the agency’s governing board announced it has restructured its top two leadership positions. Lowell Porter will take over as executive director on Nov. 1.
Chelan County is requiring all visitors -- vaccinated or unvaccinated -- to wear masks when visiting a county office. People are reminded that many of the permits they are looking for from Chelan County Community Development or Public Works can be handled online.
On Aug. 20, the Chelan-Douglas Health District issued a health advisory, asking county residents to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and its variants in the community.
