Changes coming Aug. 1 in Public Works payment processes
Beginning Aug. 1, Chelan County Public Works will no longer be able to accept payments on permits and fees after 1 p.m. on Fridays. Payment will continue to be taken during regular hours Monday through Thursday and before 1 p.m. on Fridays.

Passion for ‘big trucks’ drives O’Brien’s career with Public Works
A long-time passion for big trucks steered Donna O’Brien to Chelan County Public Works 14 years ago. While O’Brien is not the first woman at Chelan County Public Works to command a Kenworth T800 dump truck, she currently is the only one and one of only a handful over the years.

Month-long closure on Cascade Orchard Bridge starts Sept. 6
The Cascade Orchard Bridge on Icicle Road in Leavenworth will be closed for a month beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6, as a contractor for Chelan County begins to repair the deck of the 57-year-old bridge. It is expected to be re-opened on Sept. 27.

River recreationists need to be cautious near Cashmere bridge project
The new West Cashmere Bridge is expected to be open in July. River recreationists are cautioned that the wooden work trestle that was built over the river at the site of the new bridge will remain in the river until then.
