Chelan County is among 10 counties included in a request to President Trump from Governor Ferguson that a federal major disaster declaration be made following December’s historic storms.
An online form is available on the Chelan County Emergency Management website to help residents report damage from the windstorm and flooding that occurred on our local river systems on Dec. 10.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Management alerts residents to the National Weather Service’s recently issued Flood Warnings. Of special concern are burn scar areas from recent wildfires and the county’s steep hillsides and canyons.
In a message to Stehekin residents and others concerned about the Pioneer Fire, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office assures the public that emergency responders and Complex Incident Management Teams are united in one goal: Protect the community of Stehekin.
Beginning April 1, Chelan and Douglas counties will switch to a new emergency alert system called Everbridge. Residents of both counties are encouraged to sign up for the alert system.
Chelan County Emergency Management is sending notices for those people registered with AlertSense, the county’s emergency alert system. The county is asking users to update their contact information.
RiverCom 911, along with its partner law, fire and emergency responder agencies in Chelan and Douglas counties, is pleased to announce Text-to-911 is now available to Chelan and Douglas county residents and visitors.
