Local Scouts recycling Christmas trees on Jan. 6
On Jan. 6, Boy Scout Troop 7 of Wenatchee, in partnership with Chelan County Public Works, will be recycling Christmas trees at the Chelan County shop on Easy Street in Wenatchee. Trees also can be dropped off at the Dryden Transfer Station and the Entiat brush yard.

A five-day road closure on a portion of Joe Miller Road begins Tuesday, Aug. 22. Contractor KRCI, LLC, of East Wenatchee will be working to rebuild the roadway, restoring it to two lanes, between mileposts 2.20 and 2.24. That portion of the roadway was damaged in March 2016 during a landslide.

The event provides homeowners and businesses the opportunity to dispose of toxic and corrosive materials in a safe way. The collection event is free to households; however, reduced fees apply to qualifying businesses. Residents and businesses must reside in Chelan County to participate.
