On Oct. 19, construction will begin on a portion of Yaksum Canyon Road that is failing. The road is south of Cashmere, and work is expected to take about two weeks.
Join Chelan County Public Works on Oct. 12 for a meeting about repairs coming in 2024 to the Peshastin Bridge. The construction is expected to cause a temporary closure of the bridge.
The Washington State County Road Administration Board announced recently that Paula Cox, PE, and Josh Patrick, PE, of Chelan County Public Works have been named co-recipients of the 2023 Project Manager of the Year award for their work on the West Cashmere Bridge replacement project.

Beginning Aug. 1, Chelan County Public Works will no longer be able to accept payments on permits and fees after 1 p.m. on Fridays. Payment will continue to be taken during regular hours Monday through Thursday and before 1 p.m. on Fridays.

A long-time passion for big trucks steered Donna O’Brien to Chelan County Public Works 14 years ago. While O’Brien is not the first woman at Chelan County Public Works to command a Kenworth T800 dump truck, she currently is the only one and one of only a handful over the years.
