$100 recording fee increase effective Jan. 1

Effective Jan. 1, the fee to record most documents in Washington will increase by $100 effective. The first-page recording fee for most documents will be $303.50. Learn which documents are exempt from the increase.

Ohme Gardens will be donating wood from trees that needed to be removed to the Wenatchee Rescue Mission, which in turn uses the wood to keep its shelter warm during the winter. Gardens and mission staff need help collecting, cutting and loading the firewood on Oct. 22.

Chelan County jail’s K9 Kait has passed away

K9 Kait, Chelan County’s narcotics-detecting canine, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 22, the Chelan County Regional Justice Center announced. Kait served the community for more than two years.
